You see I’ve seen some days
That’ll make a soul turn away
Become heartless unforgiving
Hair gray aged face

Placed my goals and dreams into things
That made me deteriorate slowly
Made a bed in the worst of toxins
And I picked my poisons mostly

Softly cried behind dark shaded glasses
Emotionally drove pass cops reckless
Witnessed the destruction of an ideal
Sealed it away in a casket

Passed away in my own way.

Divorced with no marriage.

Torn away from my comforts
My innocents were proved false
Hiding away my strengths
And acknowledging my flaws

These demons rested on my shoulders
Wanting to see the end of me at all cost
Wanting my body a little colder
That’s when you came.
Whipped away the dirt from my shoulders

Gave me a reason to wake
To look forward to the day
Love, love again. Love life again
Power when I pray
Believe me when I say
Life well never be perfect
For none of us will it ever
But with God I’ll never stray
